I will take a line from the Adam Sandler film Big Daddy and say "Styx was the greatest American rock band and they only caught a bad wrap because most critics are cynnical assholes." With that said, I like Jason Mraz, and I have no problem with music that is contrived, cute, trite, cliche, clever, and melodic, among other things as long as it makes me feel good. Seriously, who likes The Beatles for their lyrics? "I wanna hold your haaaaannnnddd!" Since when was making music about being complex? Whatever, fuck critics. Thus, the new Jason Mraz album has the Ant seal of approval. I mean really, you wanna know what makes me want to stick my fingers down my throat? I bet you don't, but I'll tell you anyway. It's the "oh we're good because we're weird, out of tune, irregular, and difficult" bands. What's really so bad about having a good voice, writing catchy songs, and making a shit load of money off of it? This is America, dammit.

P.S. That bit about America, that means nothing, it just felt good.
